Africa Global Port Solutions Pte. Ltd. (AGPS) is a company based in Singapore, with extensive experience in the African port industry. AGPS is present in the field of onsite engineering and maintenance of Ship to Shore, Rubber Tyre Gantry Cranes, and Mobile Harbour Cranes, with established teams in Gabon (Port of Owendo), Cameroon (Kribi Port), Mauritania (Port of Nouakchott) and Cote d’Ivoire (Port of San Pedro).
The company was founded by Mr Pradeep Avadhani and Mr Philippe Gery, and it is currently helmed by Mr. Ravi Menon as it’s CEO. All three are experienced in top management within the port industry, having headed container terminals, dry ports, mineral ports and multipurpose terminals in countries as diverse as Singapore, Indonesia, Malta, Gabon, Algeria and Rwanda.
AGPS is a subsidiary of ACIS Group.
Pradeep Avadhani began his career in port operations in PSA, Singapore in 2001. Was then brought into Portek in 2004 to set up operations in the first dedicated container port in Algeria. Was a key member of Portek over a period of 9 years, heading their operations in Africa, specifically in Gabon, Algeria, and Rwanda whilst being involved in business development in other regions.
Founded ACIS Pte Ltd ('ACIS') in 2013 and was engaged as an independent consultant to the Gabon Special Economic Zone from 2014 until 2017 for greenfield projects involving the construction of multi-purpose and mineral terminals. Founded Africa Global Port Solutions ('AGPS') in 2017. While having special expertise in Africa, ACIS and AGPS provide consultancy services to the port sector in and outside of Africa, engineering and maintenance services for port equipment, as well as development and deployment of IT applications for Port Authorities.
Philippe Géry has 20 years of experience, mainly in the port and maritime sector. He has started his career in the leadership program of General Electric, holding different positions in the USA and Europe (France, Belgium and Spain). He then moved to the port and maritime sector working for Portek. Over the course of 10 years, was involved in port equipment sales and purchase, concession agreements and business plans, as well as business development in Mediterranean area and Africa. He was also the CEO of Portek’s subsidiary in Gabon (GPM) , where he was responsible for the management of the two commercial ports of Gabon, their investments in infrastructure, invoicing, business development, pilotage, towage.
In 2014, he joined GSEZ-Olam Gabon, as head of Ports Gabon, in charge of the development of ports in Gabon. He has worked on the modelling, business plan and follow of the execution of two ports, a bulk terminal and a commercial port, for a total investment of 400M€. Both ports have been put in operations in less than 3 years, more than doubling the capacity of the ports in Gabon, by introducing new equipment and new methodologies.
In 2017, he founded AGPS together with Pradeep Avadhani.
